Job summary

NSL OilChem Waste Management Pte Ltd is seeking a capable engineer to oversee daily wastewater treatment plant operations and production planning. You will supervise shifts, monitor key parameters, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with EHS and regulatory requirements.

The role requires hands-on experience in wastewater or chemical processing, strong analytical skills, and effective communication to coordinate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of Chemistry.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in operation of wastewater treatment plant or chemical processing plant.
• Independent, analytical, systematic, inquisitive, and proactive mind for problem solving.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management and operation of wastewater treatment processes.
• Production planning.
• Oversee process supervisors and shift manpower planning and performance.
• Control and monitor key operating parameters; maintain database and analyze trends.
• Undertake remedial process adjustments after consult with Treatability team.
• Manage inventory, usage and consumption of production materials.
• Overseeing housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with Logistics, QC, Treatability, and Procurement teams for materials and services.
• Monitor equipment performance; communicate repair needs and minimize downtime.
• Conduct onboarding and upskilling training for operational staff.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, EHS policy and regulatory requirements (MOM, NEA, SCDF).
• Analyze and optimize operational problems; energy efficiency calculations for boiler/ evaporator/ cooling tower/ RO.
• Liaise with Project Engineering for project works.

Job description

Job Description:

• Responsible for day-to-day management and operation of various wastewater treatment processes which includes:

• Production planning

• Oversee Process Supervisors and shift manpower planning and performance

• Control and monitor the key operating parameters. Maintain database to update water chemistry parameters and analyze trend and observe the bio reactor performance.

• Undertake remedial process adjustments, if necessary, after due consultation with Treatability team

• Manage and account for inventory, usage and consumption of production material and consumables.

• Overseeing housekeeping

• Co-ordinate with other supporting departments such as: Logistics on transportation of wastewater, QC and Treatability team on process methods and controls, Procurement for materials and services requisitions

• Monitor and examine equipment performance to identify defects. Communicate repair and maintenance requirements / schedule with department heads and Maintenance team. Track and follow-up repair works related issues closely to minimize equipment downtime.

• Conduct on boarding training and upskilling training for operational staff.

• Ensure compliance with SOPs, EHS policy, procedures & practices and regulatory requirements of MOM, NEA, SCDF and other relevant authorities.

• Perform analysis and optimization of operational problems Energy efficiency calculation for boiler / Evaporator / cooling tower / RO in the wastewater Treatment Plant

• Liaising with Project Engineering department for project works.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of Chemistry.

• Atl least 3 years of hand-on experience in operation of wastewater treatment plant or chemical processing plant
