Job summary

STAFFKING PTE LTD in Singapore West Coast is seeking a Wastewater Process Engineer to operate and optimise its wastewater treatment plant, focusing on industrial and hazardous streams. The role requires hands-on monitoring, parameter adjustments, and collaboration with technicians.

You will evaluate new streams, conduct bench and pilot tests, troubleshoot issues, and prepare SOPs and reports while supporting audits and EHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in industrial wastewater or hazardous wastewater treatment.
• Proficient with advanced oxidation processes (Fenton, electrochemical, ozone, UV).
• Proficient with biological treatment systems (anaerobic + aerobic, MBR).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and optimise industrial and hazardous wastewater treatment processes at the WWTP.
• Monitor and adjust treatment parameters based on influent water quality and process conditions.
• Support physico-chemical, advanced oxidation, biological, MBR, and RO treatment systems.
• Evaluate new wastewater streams and recommend suitable treatment processes and pre-treatment methods.
• Conduct bench-scale tests, jar tests, and pilot trials to assess treatment performance and feasibility.
• Troubleshoot process issues such as effluent non-compliance, biological inhibition, membrane fouling, and process instability.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process stability and efficiency.
• Prepare SOPs, technical reports, and operating documentation while supporting audits, inspections, EHS requirements, and guiding technicians/laboratory staff.
