About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and personable customer service staff member capable of taking orders, serving food and managing POS terminals to join The King's Chippy team in our Quayside Isle, Sentosa location. This is a full-time position that combines front-of-house service excellence with point-of-sale operations. You will be at the heart of our guest experience, delivering exceptional British comfort food like Fish and Chips, Hotdogs, Chicken Wings and the finest gelato ice creams, pastries and desserts whilst also managing transactions efficiently. This role is crucial in creating memorable dining experiences for our customers and supporting the smooth operation of our establishment.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them in accordance with venue capacity and reservations

• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and promptly, whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations from our menu

• Serving food and beverages to guests in a professional and attentive manner, ensuring high standards of presentation

• Processing payments at the till, handling cash and card transactions with accuracy and integrity

• Managing the point-of-sale (POS) system, including entering orders, adjusting bills and processing refunds as required

• Clearing and resetting tables efficiently between service periods, maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area

• Responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring any concerns are addressed professionally and courteously

• Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery

• Maintaining knowledge of current promotions, specials and menu items to enhance the guest experience

• Adhering to health, safety and hygiene standards at all times

• Engaging in social media challenges and actively participating in creating energetic customer experiences

• Maintaining high levels of personal grooming and hygiene during social media coverage.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a waiting or customer service role within the hospitality industry

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse guests and colleagues

• Cash handling experience and familiarity with POS systems

• High Standard of personal grooming, professional dressing and excellent personal hygiene standards

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry trays and plates safely

• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• A friendly, positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service

• Preferably, knowledge of food and beverage service standards and hospitality best practices

• Confident in participating in social media challenges and outgoing personality

• Knowledge of British cuisine and culture is preferred but not essential

• Singaporean preferred
