VP, Physical Security — Hyperscale Data Centers APAC

Job summary

Digital Edge DC is seeking a Vice President of Physical Security to own security strategy, governance, and incident response for its 1.8GW hyperscale data center footprint across APAC. You will direct three directorates—Physical Security Operations, Security Technology & Systems, and Security Governance & Risk—and oversee guard-force, vendor oversight, and customer audits.

This role reports to the Chief Data Center Operations Officer and requires travel across APAC.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in physical security, critical infrastructure protection, or security operations.
• 6+ years in senior leadership managing managers or directors across multiple countries.
• Experience governing outsourced guard-force and monitoring vendor contracts, SLA management, and escalation oversight.
• Technical knowledge of physical security systems to set standards and escalation authority.
• Experience with security governance, risk management, and certification/audit cycles (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS).

Responsibilities

• Own Physical Security strategy, org design, and budget across regional footprint.
• Set minimum control standard and approve access-control and surveillance standards.
• Direct guard-force and monitoring vendor governance, incident response, investigations, and internal incident command.
• Set roadmap and standards for access control, CCTV, and systems integration.
• Maintain risk register, coordinate audits, ensure evidence and actions meet hyperscale standards.
• Ensure local guard-force aligns with central standards and handles vendor oversight.
• Approve handover readiness including access controls and surveillance before energization.
• Lead executive reviews and translate security posture and incidents into strategic narratives.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve control, assurance depth, and resilience.
• Ensure compliance with information security, health & safety, environmental management, and regulatory requirements.
