APAC Security Operations Leader for Data Centers

Job summary

EdgeConneX is seeking a Director, Security Operations, APAC to lead physical and electronic security for its APAC data centers. You will manage the regional security team, the contracted guard force, and vendor contracts while ensuring audits and customer standards are met.

Responsibilities include incident response, investigations, emergency drills, and regional budget oversight, with collaboration across regional ops and the Global SOC to uphold EdgeConneX security excellence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with enterprise access control and video management platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communications to lead teams and coordinate with peers.
• Commitment to excellence and process improvement across activities.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to drive cross-disciplinary work.
• English fluency; working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia, Malaysian, or Japanese is a plus.
• 10+ years in physical or corporate security with 5+ years leading multi-site programs.
• Experience with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 in security programs.
• Experience in the data center industry.
• Bachelor’s degree; CPP/PSP is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the APAC security operations team and direct the contracted guard force across the region.
• Hold accountability for physical and electronic security across all APAC facilities, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm response.
• Own the full lifecycle of security vendor contracts, including scope development, tender, SOW drafting, renewal, and reviews.
• Own regional incident response, including customer notification, internal escalation, and law enforcement engagement.
• Direct local investigations into security incidents and support broader investigations.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and activation at sites across the region.
• Serve as the regional authority for customer security escalations and liaise with customer security teams.
• Ensure site compliance with customer-contracted security specs and audits.
• Own the regional physical security operating expense budget and monthly variance reporting.
• Conduct and oversee site security audits and field audits of security personnel.
• Define and support rollout of EdgeConneX security standards across the region.
• Maintain alignment between regional operations, the Global SOC, and the global security standards program.
• Report regional security performance, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate with regional operations to deliver a world-class data center security experience for customers.
