Job summary

Nishimatsu Construction Co Ltd is seeking an experienced Tunnel Construction Supervisor in Singapore to plan, coordinate and manage boring operations and ensure safety compliance on site.

The role requires 5–8 years in engineering with 3+ years in tunnelling supervision, plus experience with cutterhead operations and a willingness to work 12-hour shifts, nights and weekends. Relevant BCSS tunnelling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Civil Engineering.
• 5-8 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in tunnelling supervision of similar scale and complexity.
• Experience in cutterhead changing and intervention.
• Willing to work 12-hour shift, night shifts, and weekends.
• Safety certificates such as BCSS and BCSS tunnelling are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the construction of tunnels.
• Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk registers and progress reports.
• Oversee grouting, material testing and TBM alignment control.
• Ensure safety and compliance on site for tunnel works.
• Supervise subcontractors and liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Conduct site investigations and tunnelling design development under supervision.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the planning, coordinating and managing the building of the tunnel.

• Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk register, daily/weekly reports, tunnel progress reports and other tunnel related documentation.

• Handles primary and secondary grouting and material testing, etc. TBM alignment control and segment plan / selection

• Ensure compliance to safety in tunnel

• Ensure materials conform to project specifications and monitoring on-site progress, ensuring tunnels build meet specific requirements.

• Provide engineering supervision to bored tunneling operation.

• Prepare and carry out presentation of tunneling works prior to commencement of works

• Conduct site investigations, geological analysis, design development, and supervision of tunnelling activities.

• Supervise sub-contractors for tunnel works.

• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, relevant authorities and subcontractors / suppliers.

Requirements:

• Tertiary education in Civil Engineering.

• Candidate should possess at least 5-8years of engineering experience with minimum 3 years experience in construction supervision of tunnelling works of similar scale, complexity and nature of works.
