Job summary

KSLC PTE. LTD. is seeking a seasoned Tunnel Construction Supervisor to oversee TBM tunnelling operations in Singapore. You will supervise excavation, soil conditioning, spoil management, and ensure compliance with method statements and drawings while coordinating with M&E teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Civil or Mechanical and has at least five years in tunnel projects, with hands-on TBM, ring building, segment erection and grouting experience, plus familiarity with local geology.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate TBM tunnelling operations (EPB/Slurry), including excavation, soil conditioning, and spoil management.
• Oversee ring building, segment erection, key selection, and tail-void / bi-component grouting to ensure tolerances.
• Monitor TBM parameters (face pressure, thrust, torque, advance rate), ground response and flag deviations.
• Ensure compliance with method statements, risk assessments and approved drawings, maintaining quality and survey control.
• Support cutterhead interventions, hyperbaric works, and maintenance planning with the M&E team.
• Maintain site records, daily progress, and as-built documentation.
• Enforce MOM and LTA safety protocols and intervene on unsafe conditions.
• Liaise with main contractor, consultants, and authorities per Project Manager directions.

1. Supervise and coordinate day-to-day TBM tunnelling operations (EPB / Slurry), including excavation, soil conditioning, and spoil management.
2. Oversee ring building, segment erection, key selection, and tail-void / bi-component grouting to ensure they meet required tolerances.
3. Monitor TBM operating parameters such as face pressure, thrust, torque, and advance rate, as well as ground response, and flag any deviations promptly.
4. Ensure strict compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and approved drawings while maintaining quality and survey control.
5. Support cutterhead interventions, hyperbaric works, and maintenance planning in close coordination with the M&E team.
6. Maintain accurate site records, daily progress reports, and as-built documentation.
7. Enforce site safety protocols in accordance with MOM and LTA requirements, and proactively intervene regarding any unsafe conditions.
8. Liaise effectively with the main contractor, consultants, and authorities as directed by the Project Manager.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the Civil or Mechanical stream.
• Possess a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in tunnel-related projects.
• Demonstrate active, direct, and hands-on involvement in tunnelling activities during those projects, specifically in TBM operations, ring building, segment erection, grouting, and underground works.
• Be familiar with relevant regulatory and safety standards.
• Working knowledge of Singapore geology (such as Bukit Timah Granite, Jurong Formation, Marine Clay, and Old Alluvium) and its tunnelling implications is considered an advantage.
