Job summary

FUKUYAMA ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced tunnel construction supervisor to oversee sinking shafts, boring tunnels, and placing tunnel segments.

The role requires coordinating crews, ensuring alignment and depth of blast holes, and assisting Engineers to keep works on schedule. Applicants should have at least 5 years of supervision in temporary works or underground tunnelling and hold a BCSS-T certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervision of temporary works and underground structure or tunnelling.
• Experience leading tunnel construction crews and coordinating field activities.
• Ability to train crews in segment erection and ring building.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate tunnelling crew activities including sinking shafts and placing tunnel segments.
• Determine spacing, alignment, and depth of blast holes.
• Assist Engineers to ensure works meet schedule and regulations.
• Manage and supervise site workers across shifts.
• Ensure work completes safely and according to contractor program.
• Troubleshoot and submit in-house reports.
• Perform hands-on training for segment erection and ring building.
• Capable of day and night shift work.

Job description

1) Supervise and coordinate activities of tunnel construction crew engaged in sinking shafts, boring tunnels, placing tunnel segments, moving shield forward, and excavating in front of shield

2) Determine spacing, alignment, and depth of blast holes

3) Assist and support Engineers in carrying out works as assigned, and ensuring that the works are carried out to schedule and in accordance to relevant regulations

4) Manage and supervise site workers for each shift

5) Ensure completion of work in accordance to main contractor program and requirements safely with no accidents and incidents

6) Troubleshooting and submit in-house report

7) Must know how to do hands-on training to do erecting of segment, ring building etc.

8) Able to do shift work (day and night shift)

9) Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervision of temporary works and underground structure or tunnelling

10) Possess Certificate in Building Construction Safety Supervisor and BCSS-T
