Job summary

SINOHYDRO CORPORATION LIMITED (SINGAPORE BRANCH) invites a Senior Tunnel Engineer to supervise bored tunnelling, oversee ring selection, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on site.

You will prepare method statements, lead cross-disciplinary teams, liaise with authorities and subcontractors, and maintain detailed records. The role requires 8+ years in tunnelling, Civil Engineering degree, and readiness for 12-hour shifts if needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Senior Tunnel Engineer with 8+ years tunnelling experience
• Proficient with Office365 and AutoCAD
• Good knowledge of local authority requirements and engineering standards
• Able to do shift work (12 hours)
• Good team player with the ability to lead & multitasking
• Available to start on short notice

Responsibilities

• Prepare method statements, SOPs, risk register, and daily/weekly tunnel progress reports.
• Supervise bored tunnelling operations, including final ring selection and key decisions.
• Prepare and present tunnelling plans before works commence.
• Conduct daily site inspections and supervise bored tunnelling works.
• Supervise TBM operations controlling excavation and ring build.
• Prepare cutter-head intervention documents and site readiness.
• Provide technical guidance for cross passage and pump sump construction.
• Maintain records of excavation volumes, grouting, and other works.
• Maintain QA/QC records and monitoring.
• Plan and track site progress, manpower mobilization, and equipment deployment.
• Ensure JSA and site safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure smooth workflows.
• Ensure safe procedures and environmental controls at site.
• Liaise with authorities, consultants and subcontractors.
• Other ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor or PM.

Job description

Responsibilities

• 1) Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk register, daily/weekly reports, tunnel progress reports and other tunnel related documentation


• 2) Provide engineering supervision to bored tunnelling operation, including final ring selection and selection of key.


• 3) Prepare and carry out presentation of tunnelling works prior to commencement of works


• 4) Conduct daily site inspection and supervision of bored tunnelling works


• 5) Supervision work on a TBM machine controlling the tunnel labour in excavation and ring build


• 6) Make preparations for cutter-head intervention including documents for submission and site preparations


• 7) Provide technical guidance for cross passage and pump sump construction


• 8) Maintain site records of excavated volumes, grouting records and other construction work


• 9) Maintain and monitor quality control and records


• 10) Plan and monitor and track site progress, manpower mobilization and equipment deployment


• 11) Ensure job safety analysis and site safety compliance


• 12) Coordinate various subcontractors to ensure work runs smoothly


• 13) Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures are implemented at the work site


• 14) Liaise with authorities, consultants and subcontractors


• 15) Any other adhoc task assigned by direct superior or Project Manager

Requirements

• 1) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent


• 2) Senior Tunnel Engineer must have at least 8years of tunnelling work experience.


• 3) Good computer skill to fulfil the jobfunctions (Office365 and Auto-Cad, etc.).


• 4) Good knowledge of local authorityrequirements and engineering standards


• 5) Ablet o do shift work (12 hours)


• 6) Good team player with the ability to lead& multi-tasking


• 7) Able to start work within a short noticeperiod will have an added advantage

Salary will commensurate with work experience and qualifications
