Job summary

SINOHYDRO CORPORATION LIMITED (SINGAPORE BRANCH) invites a Tunnel Engineer with experienced bored tunneling to lead planning, design and on-site supervision for the LTA project. You will oversee method statements, risk registers, progress reporting and coordination with teams to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities include supervising TBM operations, preparing for cutterhead interventions, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Tunnel Engineer with at least 5 years of bored tunneling experience and design experience.
• Good computer skills (Office365 and AutoCAD, etc.).
• Good knowledge of local authority requirements and engineering standards.
• Able to start work within 2 weeks after offer (advantage).
• Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage tunnel construction.
• Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk registers, and progress reports.
• Calculate project specifications and monitor on-site progress.
• Provide supervision to bored tunneling operations and select final ring.
• Prepare and present tunneling works before commencement.
• Conduct daily site inspections and supervise bored tunneling works.
• Supervise TBM operations and manage excavation and ring build.
• Prepare cutterhead intervention documents and site prep.
• Provide technical guidance for cross passage and pump sump construction.
• Maintain site records of excavated volumes, grouting, and construction work.
• Maintain quality control and records.
• Plan and monitor site progress, manpower, and equipment deployment.
• Ensure job safety analysis and site safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure safe work procedures and environmental controls at site.
• Liaise with team leader, Design Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities of Tunnel Engineer (for LTA Project)

• 1．Responsible for the planning, designing and managing the building of the tunnel
• 2. Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk register, daily/weekly reports, tunnel progress reports and other tunnel related documentation
• 3．Calculate project specifications and monitoring on-site progress, ensuring tunnels build meet specific requirements
• 4. Provide engineering supervision to bored tunneling operation, including final ring selection and selection of key.
• 5．Prepare and carry out presentation of tunneling works prior to commencement of works
• 6．Conduct daily site inspection and supervision of bored tunneling works
• 7．Supervision work on a TBM machine controlling the tunnel labour in excavation and ring build
• 8．Make preparations for cutterhead intervention including documents for submission and site preparations
• 9．Provide technical guidance for cross passage and pump sump construction
• 10. Maintain site records of excavated volumes, grouting records and other construction work
• 11. Maintain and monitor quality control and records
• 12. Plan and monitor and track site progress, manpower mobilization and equipment deployment
• 13. Ensure job safety analysis and site safety compliance
• 14. Coordinate various subcontractors to ensure work runs smoothly
• 15. Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures are implemented at the work site
• 16. Liaise with and support the team leader, Design Manager, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders to successfully deliver the project.

REQUIREMENT :

• 1．Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 2．Tunnel Engineer have at least 5 years of bored tunneling experience and design experience.
• 4．Good computer skill to fulfil the job functions (Office365 and Auto-Cad, etc.).
• 5．Good knowledge of local authority requirements and engineering standards
• 6．Able to do shift work (12hours)
• 7．Good team player with the ability to lead & multi-tasking
• 8. Able to start work within 2 weeks after job offer will have an added advantage
• 9. Salary will commensurate with experience
