Job summary

SHIN KATSU PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Assistant Chef to support daily kitchen operations and prepare authentic Tonkatsu and Japanese dishes in a fast-paced setting.

You will maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation while ensuring hygiene and safety. The role requires hands-on Tonkatsu skills, strong teamwork, and flexibility with shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of kitchen experience.
• Hands-on Tonkatsu preparation, breading and deep-frying techniques.
• Experience in Japanese cuisine and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Prepare and cook Tonkatsu and other Japanese dishes to Shin Katsu's standards.
• Handle meat preparation, breading, deep-frying and plating for consistent taste and presentation.
• Maintain food hygiene and kitchen safety in line with regulations.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and support menu development and dish trials.
• Work efficiently under pressure to meet service demands and shifts, weekends, holidays.
