The Services required are setout as follows:
Fact-finding and Investigation
- Assist the school's discipline team in conducting thorough fact-finding and investigations of student misconduct and bullying cases, in accordance with school guidelines and processes.
- Document case findings accurately and maintain proper records for the school's reference.
- Monitor and follow up on recalcitrant offenders
- Address uniform and grooming issues and follow up with their parents
- Over see school discipline during assigned hours
Student Engagement and Pastoral Care
- Engage students involved in disciplinary cases, including offenders and victims, to provide pastoral support and guidance.
- Build positive relationships with students, particularly those who are at-risk, to identify early warning signs of behavioral issues and surface these to the relevant school personnel.
- Support the implementation of safety plans for affected students, including monitoring student well-being following disciplinary incidents.
- Conduct regular patrols of school premises and nearby areas.
Supervision and Support
- Supervise students on in-school suspension and detention
- Oversee student guidance and engagement programmes as scheduled
- Assist with student management, including supervision of students during school activities, recess and red box duties
- Assist with review of school CCTV system during case management and investigation of cases.
Restorative Work and Counselling Support
- Assist in facilitating restorative conversations and processes between offenders and victims, where appropriate and when the victim is ready.
- Support the delivery of corrective counselling to help students understand the consequences of their actions and take responsibility for their behaviour.
- Work alongside School Counsellors, Special Educational Needs Officers, Student Welfare Officers, Student Management Committee and the Student Development Team to provide follow-up support for students involved in disciplinary cases.
Parent Engagement
- Facilitate timely and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding disciplinary cases, keeping them informed of the school's actions and follow-up measures.
- Support the school in engaging parents as partners in the student's rehabilitation and behavioural improvement.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Attend relevant meetings with the student management team, School Counsellors, Special Educational Needs Officers (SENOs), and other school personnel to stay informed of students who require additional support.
- Liaise with external agencies when necessary such as REACH teams and Social Service Agencies (SSAs), where required, to deliver targeted support for students with higher needs
Administrative Support
- Assist Internal Assessment Committee with escort duties during examinations as per shift schedule
- Provide administrative and technical support as required during the assigned shift.
Additional Responsibilities
- During HBL days and school holidays, officers will be attached to the School Admin Team and/or School Operations Team to assist with administrative tasks and operational duties as assigned
The proposed personnel should preferably have the following attributes:
Attributes
- Core attribute: Calm under pressure while handling challenging situation with stakeholders (parents) and students.
- Able to engage positively with children under 16 and support behavioral development
- Passionate about working with youths/children under 16, particularly students with behaviours, disciplinary or social-emotional challenges
- Confident in managing challenging behaviours and handling difficult conversations
- Comfortable conducting investigations, writing reports, and maintaining confidential case documentation
- Conversant on how to use microsoft word/excel/ google drive and its ecosystem
- Familiarity with restorative practices and case management processes
