Job description

Aucerna and the Asia Services team are seeking a Solutions Consultant for upstream oil and gas planning at the asset level. The Solutions Consultant works with the Principal Consultant for the region to design and implement solutions for our clients and support existing solutions. This is a position preferably based in Singapore, but we will consider strong candidates based in Kuala Lumpur. Only candidates with the legal right to work in Singapore or Malaysia need apply.

You will represent Aucerna in establishing trust with our clients by helping them solve their business problems and improve their processes with our asset level planning software. Quality work and client satisfaction are top priorities. During project implementation, you will need to be hands‑on in managing individual projects in support of overall program goals and deliverables. With the successful conclusion of the project, you have to transition rapidly and effectively from the hands‑on work to high‑level relationship building and establishing the longevity of the solution for the client. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of project execution success implementing business‑oriented IT/Software solutions within the Oil and Gas industry, preferably with some experience in Upstream Planning and/or Economics. This role supports the business in Asia for Aucerna, so the candidate can expect travel in the region.

Job Description

Performance Objectives:

  • Manage* software implementation projects, aided by Aucerna’s project & program management methodology and best practices for the organization
  • Frequently and proactively communicate Project deliverables including managing expectations, presenting and interfacing with stakeholders and sponsors
  • Deliver key company initiatives on schedule, on budget, and to specification
  • Resolve any issues using appropriate conflict resolution skills
  • Ensure that client needs are fulfilled by providing professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during and after the customer's requirements are met
  • Solve challenging technical support questions related to the solution suite
  • Work effectively across internal departments (product development, quality assurance, sales, marketing)
  • Contribute to the company knowledge base and operational efficiency
  • Assist in maintenance and improvement of the training materials, product documentation and implementation standards
  • Provide solution training to clients and employees

*Managing a project through the lifecycle can include initial planning, scoping, cost estimation, scheduling, resourcing, technical solution design, monitoring project implementation metrics, action items, and deliverables, performing quality control and validation activities, end user training, and project closure activities

Qualifications
  • PMI Project Manager Professional (PMP) Designation, PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP), Prince2 or equivalent preferred
  • Oil and gas industry or software experience as well as familiarity with the upstream planning space preferred
  • A working knowledge of economic and financial modelling and metrics preferred
  • Experience with Aucerna current or former solutions (ValNav, AFENav, esi.execute, enersight, esi.manage, esi.portfolio, COGS, Perspectives, WellSpring) preferred
  • MBA or other advanced degrees preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Education:

  • University Degree, preferably in a technical or business discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Economics) required
  • Excellent problem‑solving capabilities with a resilience to obstacles and an internal drive to find the solution
  • Strong understanding of conceptual modelling, mathematics, data requirements and data consolidation
  • Strong technical skills, with ability to think through details without losing sight of the big picture
  • Effective communication skills both internally and with clients
  • Able to work effectively with cross functional teams and global teams
  • Ability to develop trust with clients, including technical staff and management
  • Advanced computer skills, including software and database management
