Job summary

A leading contractor specializing in building and structural steel works seeks an experienced Steel Structure Construction / Site Manager to oversee site execution. • Diploma / Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structure construction and erection.

• Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage steel structure construction works from mobilisation through completion.

Our client is an established contractor specialising in building and structural steel works. Due to ongoing projects, they are looking for an experienced Steel Structure Construction / Site Manager to oversee site execution and ensure steel structure works are delivered safely, efficiently and according to project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee steel structure construction works from mobilisation through completion.


• Plan and coordinate site activities, manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors.


• Supervise steel erection, installation, connection, alignment and associated structural works.


• Ensure construction is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.


• Coordinate closely with structural consultants, engineers, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical and site issues.


• Review structural/shop drawings and identify discrepancies or constructability issues.


• Monitor work progress, quality and construction schedules to ensure timely project delivery.


• Conduct site inspections and ensure proper rectification of defects and non-compliant works.


• Coordinate lifting, erection and sequencing activities to minimise clashes and construction delays.


• Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship and productivity.


• Ensure compliance with WSH requirements, site safety procedures and relevant Singapore regulations.


• Attend site and technical meetings and provide regular updates on project progress and outstanding issues.


• Coordinate inspections, testing and handover of completed structural works.


• Maintain proper site documentation, progress records and as-built information.


• Work closely with the Project Manager / Construction Manager to resolve project and commercial issues.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structure construction, structural steel erection or building projects.


• Strong hands-on experience in steel structures, structural steel erection and site coordination.


• Familiar with structural drawings, shop drawings, method statements and construction sequencing.


• Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and site teams.


• Good understanding of steel fabrication, erection, lifting and installation processes.


• Strong knowledge of construction safety and quality requirements.


• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.


• Candidates with experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, factory or large-scale building projects will be advantageous.
