Job summary

Builders Alliance Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Site Manager to lead daily construction and structural steel works on major building projects. You will read and interpret drawings, plan schedules, manage subcontractors and ensure safety and quality on site.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of site supervision experience, fluent in Mandarin and English for coordination with workers, clients and authorities, and will uphold Singapore safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant site management/supervision experience.
• Strong experience in building construction and structural steel works.
• Able to read structural, shop, and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction practices and safety requirements.
• Mandarin/Chinese fluency for communication with workers.
• English communication for coordination with consultants, clients and authorities.
• Good leadership, problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Singapore safety certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

Site Manager - Building & Structural Steel

• Manage and supervise daily site operations for building construction and structural steel works.
• Coordinate structural steel erection, installation, alignment, connection and related building works.
• Supervise subcontractors, workers and suppliers to ensure works follow the approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural and shop drawings.
• Plan and monitor work schedules, manpower, materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
• Monitor work progress, quality and site safety.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
• Identify and resolve site technical and coordination issues.
• Ensure structural steel works are carried out safely and according to approved requirements. BCA guidance specifically recognises structural-steel supervision as requiring suitably trained and experienced personnel.
• Prepare daily/weekly site reports and monitor project documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant site management/supervision experience.
• Strong experience in building construction and structural steel works.
• Able to read and understand structural drawings, shop drawings and architectural drawings.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices, safety requirements and site coordination.
• Able to speak Mandarin/Chinese fluently to communicate with Chinese-speaking workers, subcontractors and management.
• Able to communicate in English for coordination with consultants, clients and authorities.
• Good leadership, problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Relevant Singapore safety certifications will be an advantage.
