Job summary

Yamato Energy Pte. Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Automation & Instrumentation Engineer to supervise site activities and coordinate multi-discipline teams. The role covers design, installation, testing and commissioning of automation and instrumentation systems at project sites in Singapore.

You will read P&ID and drawings, calibrate instruments, and ensure safety standards and project deadlines are met. Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Control Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in industrial automation, process plants, utilities, boilers, HVAC or manufacturing facilities.
• Solid knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to read P&ID, control schematics, wiring diagrams and instrumentation drawings.
• Hands-on calibration, loop checking and commissioning experience.
• Aware of Singapore safety requirements and work practices.
• Willing to travel to project sites and work outside normal hours.
• Boiler EPC work experience and boiler operation license (3–4 years).
• Strong problem-solving mindset; effective site coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Good technical reporting, coordination, communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate site activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, structural design, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Design, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of automation and instrumentation systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA and BMS/EMS systems.
• Monitor work progress and coordinate site activities to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and process teams for systems integration.
• Prepare and review site-related documents such as Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Safe Work Procedures.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and relevant standards.
• Prepare and maintain site records, inspection reports, progress reports, and relevant technical documentation.
• Assist with quantity measurements, progress claims, variation works, and site documentation.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, piping, insulation, and commissioning teams to resolve interface issues.
• Supervise site installation, cable termination, loop checking, functional testing and commissioning.
• Assist the Project/Construction Manager with project planning, technical coordination, and completion activities.
• Ensure all site staff attend Tool Box Meetings (TBM).
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering ora related field.
• Relevant experience in industrial automation, process plants, M&E projects, utilities, boilers, HVAC or manufacturing facilities
• Good knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, control systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Able to read and understand P&ID, control schematics, wiring diagrams and instrumentation drawings.
• Hands-on experience with instrument calibration, loop checking and commissioning.
• Knowledge of Singapore safety requirements and work practices is an advantage.
• Willing to travel to project sites and work outside normal hours when required.
• Must have Boiler EPC work experience.
• Must have boiler operational license & at least 3-4 years boiler operational experiences.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle site challenges effectively.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Good technical reporting, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
