Job summary

AUSTRIATECH AUTOMATION PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a junior engineer to assist in development, testing, and modification of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software. You will support system installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities at the factory and site.

The role involves FAT/SAT participation, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma/NTec in electrical/automation/mechatronics or related discipline.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience or internship in PLC/HMI/SCADA.
• Basic knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA programming and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings and control panels is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and work on-site to support testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in development, testing, and modification of PLC, HMI, SCADA software.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior engineers in the development, testing, and modification of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
• Support system installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities at the factory and site.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and troubleshooting activities.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including SOPs, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, test records, and software backup/configuration files.
• Ensure assigned work is carried out in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, workplace safety regulations, and cybersecurity policies.
• Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to support project execution and issue resolution.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma / Higher Nitec / Nitec in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience or internship exposure in PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, or SCADA programming and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, I/O signals, and control panels is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn, work on-site, and support testing and commissioning activities.
  

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Exposure to Siemens PLC / HMI / SCADA systems is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, BACnet, or OPC is preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting skills in control systems, field devices, and networked automation systems.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate technical documentation.
