Job summary

People Profilers Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a seasoned Shipping & Logistics specialist to own the full shipment cycle, manage LC documentation, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with suppliers, shipping lines and forwarders to keep shipments on schedule, review rates to reduce costs, and ensure compliance with Incoterms and customs procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of shipping, logistics or trade documentation experience in a commodity trading context.
• Hands-on LC experience is a must.
• Solid knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documents and customs procedures.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ERP experience (Oracle or SAP) is advantageous.
• Diploma or above in Supply Chain or Logistics (relevant experience can substitute).

Responsibilities

• Own the full shipment cycle from SO/PO issuance to final delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shipping lines, forwarders and transporters to stay on schedule.
• Proactively mitigate delays, transhipment issues and disruptions before deadlines.
• Review LC processing and ensure document accuracy against LC terms.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export permits and Incoterms.
• Drive cost reduction by reviewing freight and transport rates.
• Take on ad-hoc projects to broaden exposure.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Shipping & Logistics

• Own the full shipment cycle, from SO/PO issuance and cargo readiness through dispatch, customs clearance and final delivery
• Work directly with suppliers, shipping lines, forwarders and transporters to keep shipments on schedule
• Stay ahead of delays, transhipment issues, port congestion and disruptions before they hit deadlines

Documentation & LC

• Review, process and manage Letters of Credit on the buyer side, including issuance, amendments and document checking against LC terms
• Make sure BLs, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, COOs and other documents are accurate and on time
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export permits and Incoterms
• Handle feedback and complaints from suppliers and customers

Continuous Improvement

• Review freight and transport rates and drive costs down
• Track supplier performance and work with suppliers on improvements
• Find recurring issues, get to the root cause and fix them for good
• Take on ad-hoc projects that broaden your exposure

What you bring

• At least 10 years in shipping, logistics or trade documentation, ideally at a commodity trading company (natural rubber, palm oil, grains, agri or similar)
• Hands-on LC experience is a must
• Solid knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documents and customs procedures
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ERP experience (Oracle or SAP) is highly advantageous
• Diploma or above, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics (relevant experience can substitute)
• Detail-oriented, procedural, proactive, and steady in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
