Job summary

JOVEN Electric (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a responsible Service Technician to join our After-Sales Service team. The role involves travelling to customers' premises across Singapore to inspect, troubleshoot, service and repair JOVEN water heaters.

Qualifications

• Hands-on and comfortable working with tools and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• NITEC or Higher NITEC in a related technical discipline is advantageous but not compulsory.
• Candidate must be able to troubleshoot problems systematically and independently.
• Willing to travel to customer locations islandwide with a driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled service visits to residential and commercial premises across Singapore.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instant and storage water heaters.
• Perform servicing, repair and replacement of water heater components as needed.
• Test equipment after servicing to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Explain findings and recommended solutions clearly to customers.
• Complete service reports with fault findings, repairs and parts used.
• Maintain tools, equipment and service inventory assigned to the technician.
• Follow safety procedures and Singapore regulations during service work.

Established in Malaysia in 1983, JOVEN Electric is a home-grown water heater and home appliance brand with a presence across Southeast Asia.

JOVEN Electric (S) Pte Ltd was established in Singapore in 1995. Our Singapore office and service operations are based at Ubi Techpark.

We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Service Technician to join our After-Sales Service team.

The role involves travelling to customers' premises across Singapore to inspect, troubleshoot, service and repair JOVEN water heaters.

Training will be provided. Candidates with relevant technical experience are preferred, although candidates with good hands-on ability and a willingness to learn are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled service appointments at residential and commercial premises across Singapore.

• Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose faults involving instant and storage water heaters.

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement of water heater components where required.

• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting related to water heater operation.

• Conduct basic checks of water supply, water pressure and installation conditions when diagnosing faults.

• Identify the cause of faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

• Test equipment after servicing or repair to ensure proper and safe operation.

• Explain findings and recommended solutions clearly and professionally to customers.

• Provide customers with basic guidance on the proper use and maintenance of their water heaters.

• Complete service reports accurately, including fault findings, repairs performed and parts replaced.

• Take photographs and maintain proper documentation for service and warranty cases.

• Maintain tools, test equipment, spare parts and service inventory assigned to the technician.

• Ensure company vehicles, tools and equipment are properly maintained.

• Follow company safety procedures and applicable Singapore regulations while carrying out service work.

• Escalate unusual, recurring or potentially unsafe installation conditions to the Service Department.

• Assist with other technical and after-sales duties when required.

Requirements

• Valid Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence required.

• Comfortable travelling to customer locations islandwide and driving a company vehicle.

• Hands-on and comfortable working with tools and electrical/mechanical equipment.

• Basic electrical or plumbing knowledge would be an advantage.

• Experience servicing water heaters, home appliances, electrical equipment, pumps or similar products would be an advantage.

• NITEC / Higher NITEC in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Building Services or a related technical discipline would be advantageous but is not compulsory.

• Candidates without relevant experience may be considered as training will be provided.

• Able to troubleshoot problems systematically and independently.

• Responsible, punctual and able to manage assigned service appointments.

• Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.

• Customer-service oriented with a patient and positive attitude.

• Physically fit and comfortable carrying tools, spare parts and performing hands-on servicing work.

• Able to work independently as well as part of a service team.
