Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for an on-site role in Singapore. You will act as a design authority for engineering disciplines, delivering structural solutions, 3D modeling, and technical documentation within budget and schedule.

You will lead and mentor junior engineers, engage with customers, and drive continuous improvement in structural practices. This role requires deep knowledge of marine/offshore structures and adherence to international standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years structural engineering experience in Marine & Offshore, FPSO, E-House, Oil & Gas, or industrial facilities.
• Experience in offshore and modular steel structures design and analysis.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software and codes (SACS, STAAD Pro, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Ability to review and approve calculations and multidisciplinary interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and optimization using standard software and engineering methodologies.
• Develop structural designs and technical drawings including GA, detail, isometric, and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure compliance with codes and classification society regulations (ASTM, EN, API, SOLAS, ABS, DNV, LR).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate systems and resolve interfaces.
• Manage structural engineering activities across project execution, including planning and procurement support.
• Support installation and commissioning by resolving issues and updating as-built documentation.
• Provide technical leadership through customer engagement, bid evaluations, and mentoring of junior engineers.
