Senior Hull Structural Engineer – Marine/Offshore

Job summary

PaxOcean in Singapore is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to independently develop marine/offshore structural concepts and ensure compliance with Class and technical specifications.

You will lead project design drawings, review external designers, coordinate with owners and classification societies, perform FE analysis with FEMAP, and oversee on-site trouble shooting with production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry with structure newbuilding engineering design.
• Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ AVEVA/ FEMA and Good communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule; shall take on project lead role.
• Review external designer's pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
• Review external designer's pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Performing FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.
• Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
• Prepare optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.
• Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder, etc.)
• Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed
