Job summary

Aibel is seeking a Structural MTO Engineer to support offshore and FPSO projects in Singapore. You will prepare material take-offs, extract quantities from AVEVA E3D models and drawings, and ensure accuracy of descriptions, weights and contingencies.

Collaboration with structural engineers and procurement is essential to deliver accurate MTOs. Minimum 2–6 years in structural take-off, with at least 1 year on upstream offshore FPSO projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Marine Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–6 years in structural material take-off/quantity estimation for oil & gas projects.
• Minimum 1 year on upstream offshore oil & gas projects involving FPSO topsides MTO prep.
• Experience extracting quantities from 3D models and structural drawings.
• Basic knowledge of AVEVA E3D and Navisworks for quantity extraction.
• Good Excel skills: formulas, lookups, pivots, data validation, reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural MTOs for FPSO Topsides and offshore structures under supervision.
• Extract and compile quantities from AVEVA E3D models and drawings; prepare manual estimates for unmodelled items.
• Check material descriptions, dimensions, quantities, unit weights, material grades, paint areas and wastage factors.
• Coordinate with structural engineers to identify omissions between 3D model, drawings and MTO database.
• Prepare bulk quantities for material requisitions and supplier clarifications; review by Principal Engineer.
• Reconcile engineering MTOs against purchase orders, fabrication quantities and as-built information.
• Maintain traceable MTO records with sources, revisions, assumptions and changes.
• Follow project procedures and MTO requirements; ensure quality policies.
• Develop competence in MTO methods and 3D model data handling.
