Job summary

Job description

What the role is

You work closely with users to design and build software solutions rapidly to keep pace with Joint Intelligence Command (JIC)'s operations. Your solutions will be an important enabler for our intelligence analysts to provide accurate, timely and relevant intelligence to fulfill JIC's mission.

What you will be working on

• Partner with product owner, product managers and operations owners to gather and understand requirements to then design and develop tools tailored to specific mission needs
• Develop automated testing solutions and formulate test scenarios through collaborations with developers and product owners
• Formulate design and testing documentations for products
• Communicate technical decisions through design documentation, conduct of technical talks
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and project management skills to junior engineers through pair programming, design and code reviews
• Challenge(s): Keeping pace and being familiar with fast evolving technological advancements
• Understanding intelligence operations and quickly build fundamental domain and conceptual knowledge of JIC operations

What we are looking for

• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering or information technology related field
• Proficiency in one or more programming language, but willing to working either C#, Java or Typescript
• Solid grasp in containerisation technology and comfortable with working across Docker and Kubernetes environments
• Testing Tools, frameworks and implementing automated tests
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Genuine interest in building good software for users (user-centric)
• Highly motivated and independent
