Job summary

POKKA PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced R&D Specialist to lead new product development and drive cost-down through material substitutions and recipe rationalisation.

You will formulate recipes, verify concepts before market launch, coordinate with suppliers, prepare documentation, and train junior staff while ensuring ISO, BRC/ISO, and halal standards are met. This role focuses on beverages and dairy/protein drinks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in developing new products.
• Experience in product formulation, factory processing & production, food regulation, and raw materials sourcing.
• Knowledge to develop food formulations with a focus on beverages; experience in dairy or protein drinks desirable.
• Basic knowledge of food ingredients and ability to discuss with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for R&D Projects assigned and managing their progress to meet the targeted deadline.
• Formulation of recipes and verification of new products before the market launch
• Communication with supplier on new materials or technical information.
• Prepare necessary document for new products.
• Conduct test trial production.
• Plan and implement changes to raw materials from alternative suppliers and changes to existing recipes to reduce costs.
• Run pilot production.
• Develop and propose unique new product concepts based on insights from the market and supplier information.
• Join R&D Innovative Meeting in generating new ideas to generate next successful pillar for company.
• Transfer knowledge and know how to train junior staff and support them technically.
• Support documentation for Sales-Customers enquiries.
• Ensure all necessary documents for certificate is in place & final approval received.
• Support R&D documentation to support maintenance of company ISO quality system standard.
• Ensure recipe & product specification are issued to relevant departments timely.
• Ensure all documents for HCS are in place & final approval receive.
• Ensure all documents for halal are in place & final approval receive.
• Proper R&D documentation to support maintenance of company BRC/ISO quality system standard.
