Job summary

Lumilens PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to own and develop manufacturing processes for 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers.

You will manage core assembly steps from die attach to final assembly and work with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive high yield and continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on engineering, willingness to learn, and the ability to qualify new processes and equipment to support scale-up for AI data center applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10+ years in high-volume optical transceiver or laser manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and methodologies for optical assemblies.
• Expertise in die attach, wire bond, active optical alignment, general assembly, product testing, or burn-in.
• Ability to work in a geographically diverse cross-functional team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes for new products across the transceiver assembly flow.
• Own process documentation including specs, work instructions, control plans, and FMEA; review changes on the production line.
• Maintain end-to-end manufacturing ownership with change control per QMS requirements.
• Lead or support equipment selection and new equipment introduction from requirements to release.
• Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturers to ensure DFM guidelines are met.
• Assist in qualification, reliability, and burn-in testing for new product introduction and process changes.
• Analyze process and yield data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare process reports and summarize trends; automate processes where possible.
