Job summary

Lumilens Inc. is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to own manufacturing processes for our 800G and 1.6T transceiver programs, from die attach to wire bond and active alignment, in high-volume production for AI data centers.

You will partner with contract manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and internal teams to define processes, support qualification, and drive continuous improvement, with a hands-on approach and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Physics with 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver or laser manufacturing.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Hands‑on knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and DFMs for optical assemblies.
• Expertise in die attach, wire bond, active optical alignment, general assembly, testing, or burn‑in.
• Strong data analysis, SPC, and report generation capabilities.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems and quality standards.
• Proficient data query/analysis using statistical tools.
• Expertise in optics failure analysis (FA) tools.
• Ability to work in a geographically diverse cross‑functional team.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal; willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes for new products across the transceiver assembly flow.
• Own manufacturing process documentation and review/approve process changes on the production line.
• Maintain end-to-end manufacturing ownership and change control per QMS.
• Lead or support equipment selection and new equipment introduction through release to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing to meet DFM guidelines.
• Collaborate with quality team for qualification, reliability and burn‑in testing.
• Analyze process and yield data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends.
• Automate manufacturing processes where possible to support scale‑up and high‑volume production.
