Senior Optical Process Engineer – High-Volume Transceivers

Job summary

Lumilens is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to own manufacturing processes for optical transceiver products, including 800G and 1.6T modules. The role spans die attach, wire bond, active alignment, and general assembly from definition to high-volume production.

You will work with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive yield and continuous improvement. The candidate will develop and qualify new processes and equipment, support process automation, and ensure quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in high-volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in design, development, selection, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and methodologies for optical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes across transceiver assembly flow.
• Own process documentation: specs, work instructions, FPIs, FMEA.
• Maintain end-to-end manufacturing ownership and change control per QMS.
• Lead or support equipment selection and new equipment introduction.
• Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing to ensure DFM.
• Coordinate qualification, reliability, and burn-in testing for new products.
• Analyze process and yield data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare process reports and trends.
• Automate processes to support scale-up and high-volume production.
