Senior Process Engineer - Photonics for AI Data Centers

Job summary

Lumilens in Singapore is hiring an experienced Process Engineer to own manufacturing processes for our optical transceiver roadmap, including 800G and 1.6T modules. You will own the core assembly flow, from definition to high-volume production, working with CM, suppliers, and internal QA to drive yield and continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on expertise in die attach, wire bond, active alignment, and general assembly, plus strong data analysis and quality-management know-how.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials for optical assemblies.
• Expertise in die attach, wire bond, active alignment, or related assembly processes.
• Knowledge of SPC, data analysis, and quality management systems.
• Ability to work in a geographically diverse cross-functional team.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes for new products across the transceiver assembly flow.
• Own process documentation and review/approve changes on the production line.
• Maintain end-to-end manufacturing ownership and change control per QMS.
• Lead or support equipment selection and new equipment introduction with suppliers.
• Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing to meet DFM guidelines.
• Coordinate with quality for qualification, reliability, and burn-in testing.
• Analyze process and yield data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare process reports and summarize trends.
• Automate manufacturing processes to support scale-up and high-volume production.
