Job summary

Trust Recruit Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced Shipping/Oil Trading Operations professional to manage and coordinate physical oil trades, inventory, and related execution activities.

You will prepare contracts, liaise with terminals, surveyors, and cargo insurers, and ensure accurate trade documentation and records.

Candidates should have diploma/degree in shipping or logistics with 5+ years' relevant experience in oil trading or chartering, with strong Excel and shipping knowledge.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in oil trading or related commodity trading.
• Strong understanding of physical oil trading, cargo operations, vessel movements, shipping documentation and trade execution processes.
• Experience with demurrage, cargo documentation, vessel clearance and cargo insurance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate physical oil and commodity trades, including inventory management, cargo discharge and related trade execution activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely capture of trade and deal information in the relevant trading systems and books.
• Prepare and review sales and purchase contracts, including coordination of contract documentation with counterparties.
• Liaise with suppliers, terminals and other stakeholders on vessel clearance, loading schedules and cargo arrangements.
• Coordinate with surveyors and load port agents on cargo readiness, loading operations and vessel movements.
• Monitor and manage demurrage claims, secondary costs and related payments, ensuring timely review and settlement.
• Prepare and manage cargo insurance declarations and related documentation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date trade, shipping and operational records.
• Monitor the progress of physical cargo movements and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of trades.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in oil trading, oil chartering or related commodity trading environments.
• Strong understanding of physical oil trading, cargo operations, vessel movements, shipping documentation and trade execution processes.
• Experience in handling demurrage claims, cargo documentation, vessel clearance and cargo insurance will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with ETRM, trading or commodity management systems.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills
