The Opportunity

ECI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Networking Engineer to join our APAC team. In this role, you will be is responsible for supporting all aspects of our global network (ECINet) and reports to our VP of Network Services. The Sr. Networking Engineer is required to multitask in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment and have the ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly and efficiently.

This is a hybrid role with a strong preference for candidates to be based in the Hong Kong or Singapore area.

What you will do

Implementation : Deploys / upgrades Network Hardware and Software, often working with datacenter remote hands to execute hardware upgrades & changes.

Maintain relationships with regional carriers to ensure cost and capacity demands are being met.

Provision network resources to fulfill service purchases.

Maintenance : Implement changes to network configurations as appropriate.

Applies security and bugfix updates to equipment as appropriate.

Communicates internal and external maintenance events with the appropriate customer-facing teams.

Keep NMS platform(s) performing well and up to date.

Troubleshooting : Monitors global network performance and identifies causes of outages and performance issues.

Implements fixes and workarounds to issues when appropriate.

Escalate issues to carriers & vendors as appropriate.

Acts as an escalation point to our Global Support Group for ECINet related issues.

Makes recommendations to NOC team with the goal of continuously improving existing processes.

Business Communication : Provide updates to regional technical and non-technical staff on network product capabilities and possible use cases.

Engage Sales & Sales Engineering staff to create connectivity solutions that leverage the capabilities of the network platform.

Who you are

• BA / BS degree in computer science, business, or related field.
• CCNP / MEF-CECP and / or comparable theory & hands-on experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts including IPv / v, WAN transport technologies, DHCP, DNS, Routing, SD WAN overlays, Ethernet Switching and Firewalls.
• Ability to create and maintain network management scripts in Python, Perl, Cisco EEM, and Bash.
• Ability to install / upgrade / deploy / maintain Linux packages & underlying server OS (Debian & derivatives).
• Minimum years’ experience working with and managing wide-area networks.
• Service Provider experience strongly preferred.

Product Specific Requirements

• Minimum year experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ASR / CSR.
• Experience designing and supporting networks using the following protocols : RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP.
• Experience configuring and supporting MPLS.
• Experience configuring and supporting E-Line and E-LAN service offerings.
• Experience implementing and operating SD WAN overlay technologies.
• Working knowledge of multi-tenant networking concepts including VRFs.
• Minimum years’ experience designing, building, and maintaining : IPSec
• End-to-end QoS policies for enterprise networks.
• Minimum year experience working with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) (Ex : Cisco ACS and TACACS+)
• Minimum year MEF Carrier Ethernet Services Deployment experience.
• Ability to rapidly troubleshoot and isolate failures on L (Ethernet) / L (IPv / IPv) networks using an empirical data driven approach.
