Job summary

AIA Investment Management in Singapore seeks a Senior Manager, Operational Risk to lead the risk management function, oversee risk reporting, and partner with stakeholders to strengthen regulatory compliance and resilience.

The role requires extensive experience in asset management risk, a deep understanding of risk indicators and RCSA, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. CFA or other relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous. Experience in internal audit / compliance would be an added advantage.
• Min 10 years of working experience within an asset management business either in an operational or a control function, such as risk management, compliance or audit.Roles in investment or investment operations would also be useful.
• Knowledge in Asset Management Regulations, Securities and Futures Act, good understanding of Singapore asset management regulatory framework and experience in dealing with regulators is preferred.
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience in risk management frameworks, methodologies, tools, RCSA and key risk indicators.
• Experience in AI risk, credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, and understanding of risk modeling, stress testing and investment activities would be an added advantage.
• Highly motivated self-starter, excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail, conscientious and flexible good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, plan time and meet deadlines, collaborative mentality, along with the gravitas to work closely with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and maintenance of the operational risk management framework (RCSA, risk indicators, risk events).
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate operational risks.
• Lead risk reporting for Senior Management, the Board and relevant committees.
• Provide independent second-line risk oversight across key domains including outsourcing, third-party risk, BCM, cyber and technology risks.
• Facilitate RCSA exercises, thematic reviews and control assessments.
• Lead governance activities (CEA, RMCC) and risk reporting to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Support regulatory developments and Group risk initiatives; perform gap analyses and remediation plans.
• Investigate risk events, conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong risk culture through awareness and advisory support.
• Oversee risk governance processes, ensuring policies, controls, risk limits, metrics and reporting remain aligned with Group standards.
• Maintain risk management data within governance systems; ensure data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with Group Risk, business units, auditors and regulators on risk-related reviews and improvements.
• Provide constructive challenge and independent oversight to business units.
• Support CRO in strengthening risk framework and reporting to Senior Management and the Board.
