Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Principal / Staff Engineer in Singapore to lead firmware security work for SSDs.

You will drive customer-facing escalation, guide secure feature enablement, and analyze firmware issues with a disciplined approach to debugging and validation. The role requires strong embedded security knowledge, experience with cryptography, and hands-on development in C/C++, Rust, and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer or electrical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing engineering role is strongly preferred.
• Embedded security domain knowledge including cryptography basics and secure firmware updates.
• Familiarity with storage security standards (TCG Opal, NVMe security, etc.)
• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust; Python for test automation and log parsing.
• Experience with PCIe/NVMe, NAND flash, and storage systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical escalation point for Security Firmware on SSDs.
• Guide customers through configuration and validation of security features (Opal, NVMe, SED).
• Reproduce failures in lab; analyze firmware logs and traces; deliver root cause.
• Develop, unit test, and validate firmware changes meeting security and quality specs.
• Assess vulnerabilities and support remediation and disclosure.
• Support customer security audits and produce integration docs.
