Job summary

Micron Technology in Singapore is seeking a Senior Firmware Security Engineer to support SSD security features, perform root-cause analysis, and drive secure firmware changes. You will engage with customers directly, triage complex security issues, and contribute to certification efforts such as FIPS and Common Criteria.

The role requires deep embedded security knowledge, experience with PCIe/NVMe storage, and strong debugging skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a customer facing engineering role is strongly preferred.
• Embedded Security domain knowledge including cryptography fundamentals (AES, RSA/ECC, SHA).
• Experience with storage security features like TCG Opal, NVMe security, and self-encrypting drives is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical escalation point for Security Firmware on SSD products.
• Guide customers through configuration and validation of SSD security features (TCG Opal/Ruby/Rust, Enterprise SSC).
• Reproduce and analyze failures in lab; deliver root cause and corrective actions.
• Develop, test, and validate targeted Security Firmware changes before release.
• Assess vulnerabilities and support mitigation, remediation, and disclosure.
• Support audits and security certifications (TCG, FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria).
