Qualifications

• End-to-end accounts payable processing including 3-way matching (PO, goods receipt and invoice).
• Prepare and review payment runs ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor master data and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Perform AP reconciliations and aging reviews.
• Support month-end and year-end closing with accruals/prepayments and related journals.
• Assist with staff claims and expense reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice verification, 3-way matching and timely processing of vendor payments.
• Prepare and review payment runs, ensuring payments are accurate and properly approved.
• Maintain vendor master data and liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
• Perform AP reconciliations, vendor statement reconciliations and AP ageing reviews.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments and related journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
• Review and process staff claims and expense reimbursements accurately and on time.
• Support full set of accounts activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Support statutory audit, GST and tax requirements, and prepare supporting schedules as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Guide and support junior team members, and perform other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned.

About the Role

POET Technologies is seeking a Senior Finance Specialist with a strong focus on accounts payable to manage the end-to-end AP function, ensuring vendor transactions are recorded accurately, payments are processed on time, and controls are in line with company policy and applicable reporting standards. The role will also support the month-end closing and wider accounting functions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CA) is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a finance and accounting role, with a strong focus on accounts payable; 3 to 5 years of experience handling a full set of accounts will be an added advantage
• Good knowledge of SFRS and IFRS, and Singapore GST requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables); knowledge of ERP (NetSuite) is an added advantage
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
