Job summary

Singapore Management University seeks a Senior Manager for the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing (OCCM) to lead end-to-end event planning and delivery of major events domestically and abroad.

You will oversee concepts, operation plans, risk management, stakeholder engagement and guest experiences, coordinating with internal teams and external partners for seamless delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior Manager operates with a high degree of independence in event planning, operational management and delivery.
• The role requires strong expertise in event operations, programme development, technical production, stakeholder management, protocol and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of major events, including local and overseas events, thought leadership programmes, customer experience events, performances, video productions and virtual or hybrid events.
• Develop event concepts and customer experience initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
• Independently develop comprehensive event operation plans, logistical and technical requirements for seamless delivery.
• Develop and implement event risk management and contingency/recovery plans; coordinate security as needed.
• Manage detailed protocol arrangements for events involving SMU leadership and distinguished guests; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop detailed event programmes, including speeches, panels, performances and breaks; establish staff responsibilities and protocols.
• Independently manage speakers and panellists, including invitations, travel, publicity and guest requirements.
• Liaise with schools, offices, institutes and vendors to translate event needs into technical specs and oversee delivery.
• Support marketing and communications plans, including platforms for physical, virtual and hybrid events.
• Conduct research and develop topics for thought leadership events and identify suitable speakers.
• Coordinate stakeholder expectations, anticipate issues and propose practical solutions.
