Job summary

ASM FRONT-END MANUFACTURING SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Senior QA Engineer to join the Software Engineering team. You will design, automate, and execute QA for software controlling semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including robotics, valves, and controllers, aligned with CI/CD practices.

The role requires hands-on QA experience in complex electromechanical systems with integrated software controls, plus strong communication skills and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, software testing or test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language/test case management/issue tracking software.
• Hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer or software developer in test in high-tech semiconductor equipment environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated testing of software in simulation and on physical semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Job's mission

At ASM, the Software Engineering team works on delivering software that has immediate, tangible resultsvisible in the operation of semiconductor processing equipment hardware. The hardware includes robotics,
gas valves, temperature controllers and other hardware. Based in Singapore, the Senior QA Engineer will havethe opportunity to be part of the team that leads the next generation of SEMI manufacture control Software technology and trends. The role will automate and streamline QA Process to work alongside with our CI/CD development process.

What you will be working on

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, document, and improve software test suites
• Perform manual and automated testing of software in simulation and on physical semiconductormanufacturing equipment
• Execute and analyze the functionality of engineering designs compared to intended outcomes,providing feedback on the quality, eectiveness, and performance of the designs
• Automate, streamline, and maintain QA processes to integrate seamlessly with CI/CD developmentworkflows.
• Utilize and implement existing quality standards, methods, and procedures with existing businessprocesses
• Develop and implement new quality standards, methods, and procedures not encompassed byexisting business processes both internal and external to the software Engineering group.
• Learn the system operation that includes mechanical, electrical, and software functionality.
• Create and manage tests plans and test cases, ensuring thorough validation of softwareenhancements and defect fixes.
• Work with Process Engineering in testing the system, finding appropriate usage to achieve results,define enhancements, or quality improvements.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

What we are looking for

• Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, software testing or test automation
• Proficiency in at least one programming language/test case management/issue tracking software
• Working experience in the field of System Quality Assurance, System Quality Engineering with “hands-on”experience as a Quality Engineer or a software developer in test with a company engaged in the manufacture of complex electromechanical equipment with integrated software controls in semiconductor equipment environment or high-tech equipment manufacturing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with senior leadership andstakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time

What sets you apart

• Jira/Confluence/Git/other test tools such as Test Complete or TestRail
• Proficiency in one or more of: Python, C++ or C#
• Experience with semiconductor equipment
• Experience in a role configuring software applications, managing software versioning, or providing configuration management responsibilities in a software development environment a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation, execution and maintenance.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models (LLMs), and modern softwareengineering practices leveraging generative AI
