Job summary

ASM is seeking a Senior Test Engineer in Singapore to turn breakthrough designs into scalable manufacturing solutions. You will drive product industrialization by optimizing quality, cost, and lead time while partnering with Global Operations and business units.

You will develop testing methods,-standardize processes, and lead cross-functional projects to deliver robust test solutions for capital equipment in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, automation engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in manufacturing or engineering, ideally in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience in testing optimization and automation standardization.
• Experience with control systems and serial communications (TwinCAT PLC, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, RS-485/RS-232).
• Proficient in C#, Python or similar languages.
• Proven track record managing technical projects with cross-functional teams.
• FMEA, 8D, SPC and Six Sigma proficiency.

Job's mission

As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in turning breakthrough designs into real-world manufacturing solutions. From concept to customer delivery, you’ll drive new product industrialization by working cross-functionally to optimize for quality, cost, and lead time. You’ll be a strategic partner to both Global Operations and our Business Units, influencing design, improving processes, and supporting the full product lifecycle.

What you will be working on

• Design and develop cost-effective testing methods with innovations on automation for systems and equipment testing throughout product development and manufacturing in meeting efficiency and customer quality requirements.
• Provide holistic technical solutions and drive standardization of testing methodology to produce consistent testing quality outcome in addressing testing needs across supplier, contract manufacturing, and internal manufacturing by liaising with cross functional teams in GOPS and Business Units (BU).
• Prepare test and diagnostic programs according to product requirements, refine detailed test specifications, develop detailed procedures, including assisting with the definition of test specifications with design / software engineering.
• Develop hardware and software for test fixtures, plan and coordinate test fixture sourcing activities as needed, debug and deploy test fixtures for production.
• Gathers operational and test data to evaluate test results; may take corrective/continuous improvement actions.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to influence decisions and drive product testing improvements.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, automation engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally 5 years in semiconductor capital equipment industry.
• Experience in testing optimization, including test case/option addition, automation and standardization initiatives
• Experience with control systems utilized in testing automation, serial communication protocols, TwinCAT PLC, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, RS 485, RS 232, etc.
• Working knowledge of testing methodology as well as programming languages such as C#, Python, etc.
• Proven track record of managing technical projects to completion while accomplishing objectives and influencing cross-functional teams
• Proficient in operational excellence tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC and Six Sigma
