Job summary

ASM is seeking a seasoned software engineer in Singapore to design, develop, and maintain software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will work on Windows and real-time systems, addressing real-time control challenges and integration with factory automation interfaces.

The role requires 5+ years in software development, strong C# skills, and familiarity with SECS/GEM protocols. Exposure to AI-assisted development and AMHS is a plus; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong software development experience using C#
• 5+ years in software development (full‑stack or systems)
• 10+ years in software development, architecture and system design
• Experience developing machine control software, preferably for semiconductor manufacturing equipment
• Hands-on experience with factory automation systems
• Familiarity with SECS/GEM, GEM300, and EDA (Interface A) protocols
• Experience with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS)
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and LLMs

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

• Participate in system architecture, design, and scheduling initiatives.
• Integrate and support factory automation interfaces such as SECS/GEM and related protocols.
• Collaborate with automation teams to ensure reliable communication between equipment and factory systems.

What you will be working on

What we are looking for

• Minimum a Bachelor's degree or Master'sdegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong software development experience using C#.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, either in a full-stack or systems-focused environment.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience, including software architecture and system design.
• Experience developing machine control software, preferably for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on experience with factory automation systems.
• Familiarity with SECS/GEM, GEM300, and EDA (Interface A) protocols.
• Experience working with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models (LLMs), and modern software engineering practices leveraging generative AI.
• Ability to travel 10-25% domestically and internationally.
