Job summary

ASM is seeking a software engineer to deliver applications for configurable WFE systems. You will interpret business needs from cross-functional teams to define holistic software requirements and provide user-friendly engineering solutions, either independently or as part of a team.

You will work on test automation, define specifications, code, and release notes, interface with internal customers to gather testing requirements, and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/SE/EE or related field.
• 3+ years of software development with C++, C#, .NET, React, TS/JavaScript, Python.
• Experience with SQL and relational database design.
• Hands-on use of Visual Studio, VS Code, Git.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP-based automation and SEMI SECS/GEM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in test automation projects to develop software applications.
• Define software specifications, develop coding and documentation for a variety of software applications, compile user manuals and release notes for patches/upgrades.
• Interface with internal customers to gather testing requirements and develop automation solutions.
• Perform software tests, identify bugs, and implement solutions to improve quality and performance.
• Collaborate with IT and Data Intelligence teams on various software projects.
• Compile data for regularly scheduled or special reports and statements.

Job's mission

The position involves delivering software that has immediate, tangible results visible in the manufacturing of highly configurable WFE systems. The engineer shall understand business needs clearly from cross-functional teams in order to define holistic software requirements. He/she will be required to use his/her experience and judgment to provide user-friendly software engineering solutions. The engineer will work independently or as a team member on software development efforts.

What You Will Be Working On

• Participate in Test Automation project(s) to develop software applications to implement the required functions.
• Define software specifications, develop coding and documentation for a variety of software applications, compile user manuals and release notes for patches/upgrades.
• Interfaces with internal customers for testing requirements, conduct analysis to develop automation solutions for deployment and implementation.
• Performs software tests on code and enhancements. Identifies application bugs, and implement solution to improve quality and performance.
• Utilize automation technology and software solution to increase testing efficiency.
• Investigate inquiries, questions, feedbacks and issue reports from internal customers.
• Design data scheme and setup the database that software interacts with, implement access control from both logic and data layer. Optimize queries as needed for performance improvements.
• Collaborate with IT department and Data Intelligence team when needed in various software projects.
• Compiles data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis and statements.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum BS Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Electrical & Electronic Engineering or relevant disciplines
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing software using: C++, C#, .NET, React, Typescript/JavaScript, Python.
• Experience in SQL and relation database design and development.
• Hands-on experience in programming tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, GIT, etc.
• Experience in Data Comm, Device Control, SEMI SECS/GEM, EDA, PLC, Automation using TCP/IP would be a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to discuss with engineering groups to determine the true software requirements; Strong teamwork spirits.
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills
• Strong accountability to take initiative and ownership to deliver results

What Sets You Apart

• Experience with industrial automation, device communication, or manufacturing software environments.
• Knowledge of SEMI SECS/GEM, EDA, PLC integration, or TCP/IP-based automation systems.
• Experience developing software for equipment control, testing, or manufacturing applications.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
