Job summary

VAST Data in Singapore is seeking a Customer Support Engineer to join a fast-growing team. You will be the technical expert handling post-sales support, working closely with customers, engineering, and services to resolve issues and deploy solutions.

The role requires strong Linux skills, scripting, NAS experience, and excellent communication in a dynamic startup environment. You will engage with field teams and contribute to lab and on-site activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in customer-facing roles with storage solutions.
• Strong Linux administration skills.
• Proficient in Bash scripting; familiar with other languages.
• Experience with networking on Linux and troubleshooting.
• Experience with file systems and scale-out NAS.
• Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-growing startup.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted customer relationships with a customer-first mindset and product knowledge.
• Respond to technical support issues quickly, with hands-on problem solving.
• Perform daily technical operations and drive issues to resolution.
• Support field services: installations, upgrades, break-fix, expansions.
• Log and escalate feature requests and bugs with adequate detail.
• Coordinate with pre-sales, Professional Services, and Engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer adoption and usage of VAST products.
• Guide account teams on technical status and activities.
• Balance workload to meet KPIs and SLAs while ensuring customer happiness.
