Job summary

Sanmina-SCI Systems Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a CAD Software Engineer with a background in Electronic/Communication engineering and PCB manufacturing. You will develop CAD software routines, prepare design specifications, and collaborate with CAM and production teams to implement new tooling for PCB fabrication.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are welcome. Strong programming knowledge and computer literacy are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electronics or related field.
• Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages is desirable.
• Basic computer literacy and software skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develops routines and utility programs.

• Edit and adjust customer PCB designs based on specs and IPC standards.
• Communicate artwork issues to Front-End/Process Engineers and suggest solutions.

• Prepare templates for new tooling targets to ensure compatibility.
• Highlight constraints when adding new targets/toolings.
• Ensure training for CAM staff for new tooling targets.
• Collaborate with Corporate MIS Programmer to create scripts to improve efficiency.

About the role

Develops and applies Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. Assessing architecture and hardware limitations, plans technical projects in the design and development of CAD software. Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Develops routines and utility programs

• Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval

• Specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

• Edits and compensates customer PCB Design based on customer specification, manufacturing capability, IPC class standard, and special instructions

• Communicates artwork related issues to Front-End Engineers and/or Process Engineers and suggest solutions to resolve the problems

• Assist CAM Engineers in working closely with Production/Process Engineers in implementing new targets/toolings needed to the newly acquired machines

• Assist CAM Engineer in providing/preparing template for the newly introduced tooling targets to ensure it will not crash with existing targets considering all possible job technology

• Highlight to process owner the constraints of adding new targets/toolings needed should there be any

• Ensure proper training to be provided for all concern CAM staffs for the newly added targets/toolings

• Work with Corporate MIS Programmer to create new scripts that will increase efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize errors during editing

About you

• Bachelor degree of Science in Electronic Electrical engineering

• Bachelor degree of Science in Electronic and communication engineering or other relevant degree

• Computer Literate

• Has experience in PCB manufacturing skill or any related field

• Experience in using Genesis is an added advantage

• Knowledge in programming language
