Job summary

CRISWELL SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Engineer to join our precision CNC machining team. You will develop CAD/CAM programs, design fixtures, and optimize toolpaths for high-precision aerospace components while supporting NPI and FAI activities.

You will work closely with machinists and QA to resolve machining and dimensional issues, maintain CAD/CAM drawings, and continuously improve processes.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma / Higher Nitec in Precision Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of CNC machining, CAD/CAM programming or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in CAM software such as Mastercam, HyperMill, NX CAM, Fusion 360 or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of CNC milling, cutting tools and GD&T.
• Experience with 4-axis/5-axis machining is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a CAD/CAM Engineer to join our precision CNC machining team. The successful candidate will be responsible for CAD/CAM programming, machining process development and engineering support for high-precision components, including aerospace and precision engineering parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify and review 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for machining requirements and identify potential machining issues.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications and customer requirements.
• Design and develop jigs, fixtures and work holding solutions where required.
• Develop and optimize CAM programs and toolpaths using CAM software for 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
• Select suitable cutting tools, work holding methods and machining parameters.
• Simulate and verify toolpaths to minimize machining errors, collisions and unnecessary tool movements.
• Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, productivity and machining efficiency.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI) and production activities.
• Work closely with machinists to resolve machining, tooling and dimensional issues.
• Work closely with Quality personnel to investigate production problems and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Continuously improve machining processes, tooling and programming methods.
• Maintain proper control and revision of CAD drawings, CAM files and CNC programs.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma / Higher Nitec in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in CNC machining, CAD/CAM programming or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in CAM software such as Mastercam, HyperMill, NX CAM, Fusion 360 or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of CNC milling, cutting tools, machining processes and work holding.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with 4-axis/5-axis CNC machining will be an advantage.
• Experience in precision engineering or aerospace machining will be highly advantageous.
• Experience in fixture/jig design and machining process development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with Production, QA and Engineering teams.
