Job summary

Job-Skills Integrator-Precision Engineering (JSIT-PE) is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer in Singapore. You will design and document electrical systems on high-precision CNC lathe machines, ensuring all designs meet performance and regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with engineering teams, leading product development projects, and providing ongoing support after product launch. Qualified candidates will possess a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the CNC industry.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, validate and document electrical system on high‑precision CNC lathe machines. In this role, you will work on customer‑driven design changes, test and refine your own designs, and make sure improvements meet customer requirements. You will also be responsible for delivering design projects on time and ensuring electrical designs meet performance, safety, reliability, and global regulatory standards.

As part of the engineering team, you’ll collaborate with other engineers, sales staff, and departments such as production, quality, and procurement. Your goal will be to create reliable, cost‑effective CNC solutions that satisfy customers and support future sales through innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Conceptualize and design complete electrical systems for CNC machine tool including power distribution, control panels, servo drives, motors, sensors, I/O and safety circuits.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and BOMs using CAD software tools.
• Support new machine model development, modification design via engineering changes, design upgrades and evaluation.
• Lead full‑cycle product development projects including ideation, testing/debugging, iteration, and transition to mass production.
• Learn and apply internal design standards and engineering best practices. Perform self‑checks on designs, evaluate PLC program (Fanuc & Mitsubishi controllers), and ensure timely submission of final designs to support production schedules and customer delivery deadlines.
• Address and resolve complex automation solutions, ensuring all designs meet required performance, safety, regulatory, and quality specifications.
• Work closely with Production, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure smooth manufacturing processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize designs for efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Provide ongoing support after product launch by addressing customer feedback, handling claims or technical inquiries and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in machine tool, automation electrical design work or robotics equipment, preferably in CNC machine industry.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (Unidraf X, BOM or equivalent).
• Proficiency in PLC programming software (GX Work, GX Developer and Fanuc Ladder).
• Experience in CNC machining and understanding of precision manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work with complex mechanical systems.
• Experience leading product development from concept to mass production.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, bills of materials, and design records.
