Job summary

Exyte in Singapore is seeking a Senior Architect to lead architectural design on fast-track projects, ensure compliance with BOA-accredited standards, and mentor junior staff.

You will oversee design through construction, coordinate multi-discipline teams, and drive sustainability and safety milestones in high-tech sectors such as semiconductor and biotech.

Qualifications

• Architectural degree with BOA accreditation and senior project experience.
• Experience on fast-track projects in high-tech sectors preferred.
• International exposure and leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable design and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Take role as Work Package Owner (WPO) for packages and handover documents.
• Progress design per Design Checklist and lead client/weekly meetings.
• Mentor architects, supervise QA/QC alignment with specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, ensure design complies with codes and contracts.
• Promote safe working practices and protect company interests.

Job description

• Taking the conceptual design through to implementation and handover
• Ensure that all design is in compliance with local authorities’ code
• Ensuring sustainability targets are incorporated into the design
• Production of tender documentation, including project specifications and contract schedules such as Summary of Tender and Schedule of Rates

Job Responsibilities

• Taking role as Work Package Owner (WPO) responsible for packages progress to completion with help of supervisor / QAQC team and final handover documents
• Progressing the design in accordance with the Design Checklist
• Chairing sub-contractor progress meetings
• Chairing Architectural Department Client weekly Meetings
• Liaising with Quality Assurance / Quality Compliance engineers to ensure alignment of supervision goals with specification requirements
• In the absence of a Lead Architect, the Senior Architect shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the Lead Architect position
• Mentoring of an Architect with the intent of securing properly trained personnel to ensure the continual expansion of the company
• Ensuring Architectural System Supervisor is provided with the current approved plans and shop drawings
• Ensuring Architectural System Supervisor is fully briefed on the awarded scope of work, the tender technical documents and all contractual revisions to tender documentation.
• To promote safe working practices and to protect the health and wellbeing of Employees, Sub-contractors and customers.
• To undertake the assigned work scope in a professional and responsible manner

• To ensure full awareness of his/her scope of work and the extent of the obligations of Exyte
• The role could vary between pricing, design, construction, commissioning, through to final acceptance
• To embody and champion a mindset for Operational Excellence by active contribution towards development of Knowledge Centre, Digitalization Tools, Lessons Learnt System, Sustainability and other operational improvement initiatives.
• Ad hoc duties as determined by Management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Architecture, preferably from a university accredited with BOA
• Bachelor of Science Architecture (Hons)
• Certifications in Autodesk Revit, BCA Green Mark Manager, BCA Universal Design Assessor, LEED-AP, WELLS-AP, Design for Safety etc are preferred.
• 7 - 8 years professional architectural experience with 2 years on fast-track projects
• Experience in design and construction of Architectural services systems in both design and construction, preferably with some “Fast Track Project” experience for Semiconductor, Sustainable Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nutrition, Healthcare or Biotech Projects
• At least three years of international experience in a high-tech industry or other multiple discipline orientated construction business
• At least two years of experience in a leading architectural position of a fast-track project including one years of experience in managing multi-discipline project
• At least two years of experience of managing staff, coaching/mentoring and developing people
• Experience in implementing change strategies internally
• Experience in strategic and operational planning and implementation
