Job summary

Singapore Management University seeks a proactive professional to support the Office of Alumni Relations in engaging alumni, cultivating industry partnerships and delivering events. The role requires coordinating with schools and institutes, managing volunteer groups, and driving alumni participation.

The successful candidate should bring a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, with strong communication, planning and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of working experience, preferably in the higher education sector, in stakeholder engagement and event management.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and deliver quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong project management, administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) – with an outgoing personality.
• Demonstrate strategic, critical and analytical thinking abilities. Mature and relationship-oriented, with a proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with alumni, industry partners and other stakeholders.
• Proficient in leveraging technology, social media and database management tools.
• Creative, innovative, energetic, and positive in outlook, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willing to work after office hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Stakeholder engagement: develop and deliver alumni engagement initiatives with partner schools, offices, colleges and institutes.
• Volunteer management: strengthen alumni communities and support chapters with governance and records management.
• Event planning and management: conceptualise, organise, and evaluate a diverse portfolio of alumni events including panel discussions and reunions.
• Support supervisor and contribute to university-wide events and initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
