Job summary

GREENSAFE INTERNATIONAL PTE. LTD. invites applications for a Library Officer to manage day-to-day library operations, including circulation, shelving, and cataloguing, while ensuring accessibility of print and non-print resources.

You will collaborate with teachers, coordinate procurement, and implement engagement activities to support curriculum integration. The role requires at least 3 years of relevant library experience, proficiency in Spydus, and strong computer skills with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Good management capabilities for day-to-day library operations (inventory, weeding).
• Proficient in Spydus Library Management Solution.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• At least 3 years' experience as a Library Officer in national, school, or tertiary libraries.

Responsibilities

• Circulate library collection for loan.
• Shelve print resources by genres; ensure non-print resources are accessible.
• Index, archive, and update past assessment papers.
• Consult Key Personnel on collection development recommendations.
• Seek student feedback on book titles and suitability.
• Coordinate with suppliers for procurement, selection, delivery, and verification of resources.
• Classify, catalogue, process, and genrefy new resources into the LAS.
• Check inventory and weed library resources at least once a year.
• Publicise the collection, services, and activities via displays, newsletters, and broadcasts.
• Provide loan, advisory, information, and enquiry services to walk-in users, phone, and email queries.
• Assist in locating information from print and non-print sources.
• Integrate library programmes into the curriculum (book sharing, reviews, quizzes).
• Engage regular users to gather feedback.
• Assist teachers in conducting school-based library programmes.
• Operate the Library Automated Service (LAS) for circulation and database maintenance.
• Carry out shelf checking/reading.
• Prepare, analyse, and evaluate monthly usage and collection statistics reports.
• Define functional areas with clear layout, signage, and guides.
• Maintain a conducive learning environment and cleanliness of the library.
• Enforce library rules as per the college handbook.
• Support and monitor e-booking of discussion rooms and library venues.
• Coordinate procurement of prizes for library programmes.
• Perform other assigned duties.
