Job summary

Wheeler Mectrade (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a proactive B2B sales professional in Singapore to drive growth for mechanical engineering products. This role involves qualifying leads, presenting solutions, and managing the full sales cycle from initial contact to closure.

You will build strong client relationships, translate requirements into technical proposals, and coordinate with engineering partners to ensure project success. Fluency in English or Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of B2B sales experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Able to read GD&T and 2D/3D drawings.
• Proficient in MS Office; driving license preferred.
• Fluent in English or Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and develop leads for our mechanical engineering products and services.
• Build strong relationships with potential and existing customers, understanding their specific needs and challenges.
• Perform site visits, attend project meetings.
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, proposing the most effective products and configurations.
• Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations, showcasing the value proposition of our offerings.
• Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and clear communication.
• Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure.
• Collaborate with partner stakeholders (e.g. CNC, Metal Fabrication) to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor offerings.
• Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets through effective customer management and strategic account development.
• Prepare and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Participate in design & fabrication discussions, follow industry standard processes.
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required (e.g. periodic stock take)

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within the mechanical engineering industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, applications, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time management, organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Speak, Read & Write conversational English or Mandarin.
• Can read & understand or prepare GD&T drawings, 2D Plan drawings, 3D Isometric drawings.
• Proficiency in Solidworks and Sketchup is preferred.
