Job description
The Challenges

You will be responsible for providing the basic and advance respiratory care services to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardio pulmonary system. You will be responsible in planning, implementing and evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services, emergency services and special procedures in the Intensive Care Units for patients to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardio-respiratory diseases and related disorders. Some of the respiratory therapy procedures that you will perform include management of patients on mechanical ventilator, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, assist in endotracheal intubation, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, assist in bronchoscopy procedure, etc. You will also participate in the ward rounds with the medical team to review and discuss appropriate respiratory therapy for the patients.

Other duties include providing education and training to other members of the healthcare team, students and patients as needed as well as basic maintenance and troubleshooting of RT equipments. You can also expect to contribute towards continuous quality improvement in the department and provide guidance to trainees and students.
