Job summary

Chiu Teng Construction Co. Pte Ltd is seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee site operations for our civil projects in Singapore.

You will review drawings, attend site meetings, and ensure construction aligns with specifications while maintaining safety standards. The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, accreditation as a Registered Resident Engineer with IES, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• Registration as a Resident Engineer with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Resident Engineer.
• Thorough knowledge of Building Control Act, regulations, and standard forms of contract.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review all project drawings and specifications; raise discrepancies and potential problems before and during construction.
• Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, review method statements, and resolve technical issues.
• Supervise construction and related works; ensure compliance with project specs, drawings, and site instructions.
• Observe site safety; submit reports and ensure safe practices.
• Coordinate with contractors/sub-contractors to align site works.
• Highlight discrepancies, provide site progress feedback, and report irregularities.
• Supervision for excavation.
• Supervision for tower crane operation.
• Supervision for crawler crane operation.
• Supervision for basement ERSS.
• Oversee other specialist work as required under BCA & LTA.
• POWS under PUB for water/sewer pipe monitoring.

Job description

• Review all project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or possible problems before construction work commence on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the project




• Attend site meetings, conduct site inspections, review method of statements in relation to the project and resolve technical issues




• Supervise and the construction and related works, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, sketches and site instructions by the supervising qualified persons and project consultants




• Observe and comply with site safety, and submit all reports as directed and ensure that works are carried out in a safe and proper manner




• Liaise with the contractors/sub-contractors in the coordination of site works




• Highlight discrepancies, feedback site progress and irregularities




• Supervision for excavation




• Supervision for tower crane operation




• Supervision for crawler crane operation




• Supervision for basement ERSS




• Other specialist work supervision required under BCA & LTA




• POWS under PUB for water/ Sewer pipe monitoring

Requirements
