Job summary

SMRT Corporation Ltd is seeking a Manager, HRBP Rail to deliver hands-on HR support to our rail business units. You will partner with leaders on workforce priorities, oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance processes and policy compliance to ensure effective operations and sustainable people outcomes.

You will collaborate with Centres of Excellence on payroll, benefits, learning and HR systems, while driving workforce analytics and continuous improvement in HR governance.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline; relevant postgraduate or professional HR qualification is advantageous.
• Typically 5-8 years of progressive, broad-based HR experience with hands-on HR business partnering responsibilities; experience in complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Operational HR partnering with assigned Business Units; regular engagement with leaders and employees to provide practical workforce advice.
• Manage employee relations, case management, and ensure procedural fairness and timely follow-ups.
• Support industrial relations with unions and employee representatives; prepare materials and records.
• Oversee workforce deployment, recruitment priorities, and staffing changes to maintain service continuity.
• Coordinate performance cycle activities including goal setting, reviews, and talent reviews.
• Interpret and apply HR policies and governance; maintain case files and monitor risks.
• Coordinate payroll, benefits, recruitment, learning, and HR system matters with Centres of Excellence.
• Monitor headcount, attrition, absenteeism and other workforce indicators; provide insights.
• Supervise team members, set standards, and coach staff on service delivery.
• Partner with business on workforce planning and succession readiness; support organizational changes.
• Lead or support HR change initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
